The North Shore Woodturners Guild makes toys every year and donates them to various charities. Last year it was the Salvation Army. On Saturday about 16 guild members rocked up to make some toys. All the lathes were in action.

We even had an Art Department that took care of the painting. Lunch was well done on the barbie and we all downed tools for chow and a chat.

As you can see we had a decent output. I spent the day on the chainsaw dealing to the pile of timber that had accumulated over the month. There was Silky Oak, Pohutukawa, Totara and Camphor Laurel.

A selection of bowls, platters, pepper grinders, pen blanks and box blanks appeared on the driveway. These will be auctioned off in our weekly raffles and guild members can also purchase blanks. All in all a good day.
